  • Think Out Loud Productions is a video production company that specializes in independent films and documentaries. TOLP was recently established by my friend and photographer, Justin Wirtalla and it's obvious that his photographic eye has translated seamlessly to film with his beautiful compositions and exquisite use of color. Check it.

  • Fast-paced rhymes accompanied by a sick blend of illustration and stop-motion make Todor & Petru by The Thunderclaps a killer music video. This piece was created by students from the French visual art school, Gobelins and they did an amazing job. Personally, I think this form of videography would make the best live-action anime movie.

  • Good god I love this song.
  • I've been listening to The Pierces for a couple years now and have had the pleasure of seeing them perform live at Bowery Ballroom in NYC... I completely love these ladies! They're wild southern gypsy women who know how to make amazing music and did I mention they were hilarious?

The sister duo is now under new management (Polydor Records) and have just released their new UK EP, Love You More, which was co-produced by Guy Berryman of Coldplay. If you heart them, which I'm sure you will, buy their EP when it hits the US!

Anywhoo... here are some of my favorite songs from them. Enjoy!

  • There's a part of me that is disturbed by this video (you'll see why) but I think the filming and editing are progressive and the concept is extremely creative. Bucky Studios created this film to be humorous and just plain crazy-awesome, but some folks commented that "this is what happens when kids play violent video games." Though unintentional, I see this as a commentary on that notion; juxtaposing a ridiculous accusation and misconception with an equally ridiculous and far-fetched interaction between two young boys. I love and support video games because I am a gamer and it saddens me when popular culture accuses the VG industry of creating youth violence as well as emotional desensitization and social detachment. • Birds on the Wires from Jarbas Agnelli on Vimeo.

One day Jarbas Agnelli was reading his newspaper when he saw a picture of birds on electric wires which immediately fascinated him. He noticed that the positions of the birds looked like a piece of musical notation. He set about recreating the melody based on where the birds were perched.

He contacted the photographer who had taken the original picture who was also intrigued by the music. He informed his Editor and the whole idea was turned in to a story in the newspaper. Agnelli, spurred on, then created this animation with the photo, the music and the score.

We love Nature ... Nature is perfect.

  • Really cool series that has an interesting take on dance performance. Check it.

  • My favorite lady duo! I cannot wait for their new album!
  • I'd watch the whole movie like this. Geekness.

  • Magic! Love her!

  • I didn't think much of the song before I saw the video. I love the video so much for some reason and thought I'd share!

  • Love this band, love this song ... and this video kicks ass, literally.

  • I love this version so much more!

    Infamously yours,

  • "Legend of the Guardians." I seriously want to see this movie!

  • I love movies that have myth and magic wove in. While looking through movie trailers I found this little gem called, "Ondine." Here's the synopsis from the official website:

ONDINE is the story of Syracuse, a simple fisherman who catches a beautiful and mysterious woman in his trawler's nets. The woman seems to be dead, but then she comes alive before Syracuse's eyes and he thinks he may be seeing things. However, with the help of his ailing, yet irrepressible daughter, Annie, he comes to believe that the fantastical might be possible and that the woman (Ondine) might be a myth come true. Ondine and Syracuse fall passionately in love, but just as we think the fairytale might go on forever, the real world intercedes. Then, after a terrible car crash and the return of a dark and violent figure from Ondine's past, hope eventually prevails and a new beginning is presented to Syracuse, Ondine and Annie.

This movie was released in June but I'm still going to hype it. Here's the trailer:

  • I do declare, the best ballet I've seen yet.

  • "Unbearable Lightness" by Dutch designer Tomáš Gabzdil Libertiny. Libertiny created a laser sintered mold of Jesus that was placed inside a glass case. When put on display, 40,000 worker bees were released inside the case and the honeycombs they created on the surface of the mold finalized the structure. Isn't this amazing?! More info and images here.
